We usually split the passage up over the week into small parts in our reading. Our lessons will cover the Old Testament over this year (2019). It’s important that our children learn these are accounts from God’s Word and not just stories. I always recommend reading the passage to your child from the Bible first, then supporting with the lesson. In regards to reading the Bible along the way. In the craft, or a sorting worksheet, or coloring page etc In the more recent lessons, I’ve included the memory verse in different forms, eg. To begin, we would simply teach him a key verse from the passage, but it wasn’t included in the lesson. The lessons have developed a little each week to better meet our need and the need of others.
